Vintage Bergere No. 5501 Bentwood Swivel Chair from Thonet, 1980s

This swivel desk chair features a black beech bentwood frame and a rattan seat which itself is in fantastic condition. A cast iron base/swivel allows the chair to raise or lower. The design of the Thonet No. 5501 chair dates from 1866. It was shown at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1889. This chair was produced in 1980's. The seat height can be adjusted in height from 44 to appr. 55 cm.
